On 8 December 2022 the Serbian government formed a task force which task is to propose how to innovate the legislation on foreigners and their employment in Serbia by 13 January 2023.
Task force consists of 28 members. The task force is headed by Mr. Nenad Paunovic from the office of the Prime Minister, and Mr. Danijel Nikolic from the general secretariat of the Government of Serbia, and the members include Mr. Goran Vesic, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, and Ms. Jelena Begovic, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation. Other members of the task force come from the Ministry of the Interior, office of the Prime Minister of Serbia, National Employment Service, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In order to carry out entrusted task, the task force will examine provisions of the current Law on foreigners and Law on employment of foreigners, and it will prepare draft amendments to the Law on foreigners and the Law on the employment of foreigners, or a new text of the two laws.
In the nearest future we will see if the task force will complete its task till prescribed deadline, taking into consideration that one month may not be sufficient for analysis of existing legislation and preparation of draft amendments to the said laws, or new text of those laws.
